Two alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed and seven Army soldiers wounded when elements of 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion encountered the rebels around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 “Araw ng Kagitingan”.
The encounter took place at Sitio Asaran, Barangay Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental that lasted for at least an hour.
The troops conducted operation after receiving information from civilian the presence of the armed terrorist in a temporary camp in the area where about 20 NPA are holed.
